Daniel Ott’s In Pieces: Symphony in Three Fragments, a work for full orchestra was commissioned for the Auburn Symphony Orchestra and was premiered in the New Performing Arts Center in Auburn, Washington, on January 30, 2016. It was conducted by Alastair Willis.
As an article here in the Auburn Reporter explains, the work "commemorates the city for its support of the arts. It is a pure, symphonic, 18-minute work performed in three interchangeable movements."
Daniel provides some background on the piece in the audio segment below recorded just prior to the premiere.
